ENGAGEMENT SESSION

I had the pleasure of photographing Dacia and Michael's engagement session amidst the serene backdrop of a field and the soothing waves of a beach. These two were so cute and so in love, it was really sweet to witness their connection.

An engagement session can often be intimidating. From what to wear to what location to choose to not fully knowing how to pose, there is so much to think about when it comes to getting the perfect photos that showcase your love as a couple.

Here are a few tips to help you prepare for your own memorable engagement shoot:

Choosing the Right Outfits: Selecting outfits that complement each other and the surroundings is crucial. I always recommend solid or neutral colours, or subtle patterns that don't distract from your natural chemistry. Comfort is key, so make sure you can move freely and wear something that makes you feel confident.
Picking the Perfect Location: Whether it's a sun-kissed beach, a rustic field, or a bustling city, the location sets the mood for your photos. Consider places that resonate with your relationship or have sentimental value to you two! Natural light can work wonders as well, so I always like to aim for early morning or evening shoots for that soft, flattering glow.
Timing is Everything: Plan your session when you both feel relaxed and at ease. I’d recommend you avoid rushing home from work or other obligations. A relaxed atmosphere translates into genuine smiles and interactions.
Personalize Your Session: Feel free to bring along meaningful props or items that reflect your personalities and story together. These little touches add depth and authenticity to your photos. For example, bringing a blanket and a bottle of wine would be a cute touch and adds some variety into your photos!
