Winter vs. Summer Family Session

ROGERS FAMILY

FAMILY SESSION

Family photo sessions are a great way to capture how families change and grow over time. Recently, I had the chance to photograph the Rogers family in two very different settings: a summer session in Tofino and a winter session in Stanley Park. Here’s a look at how each season brought out something special in the photos!

Winter in Stanley Park: Stanley Park in winter offered a completely different experience. Snow-covered trees and cool, crisp air created a cozy setting. The winter setting allowed us to focus on close-up, intimate moments. I also love how the quiet beauty of the park in winter made for calm, reflective photos that showed the family’s togetherness.

Summer in Tofino: Tofino in the summer is all about wide-open spaces and natural light. We had a blast on the sandy beaches, with the sun shining and the ocean as their backdrop which made for warm, inviting photos. With plenty of space to run around, we captured the family enjoying playful activities and exploring the shore. I love summer beach sessions because this casual, laid-back setting lets everyone be themselves, resulting in natural and fun photos.

In conclusion, each season really does offer its own benefits and charm. Summer sessions are best for lively, outdoor shots with lots of natural light and are great for capturing energetic, fun moments, while Winter sessions are ideal for intimate, serene photos with a cozy feel – perfect for showcasing family bonds in a peaceful setting. Both the summer and winter sessions with the Rogers family brought out different aspects of their personalities and interactions.
